OVERNIGHT RESURFACING ON A828 SOUTH OF CONNEL BRIDGE

July 4, 2025

  • Works start on Sunday 27 July

  • Overnight lane closures in place until the morning of Thursday 31 July

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are set to begin road resurfacing works on the A828 south of Connel Bridge from Sunday 27 July.

Works will be carried out between the hours of 7pm and 7am each night and are expected to be completed by the morning of Thursday 31 July.

To protect road users and the workforce, three-way traffic lights will be in place and vehicles will be escorted through the works under a 10mph convoy. Outwith working hours, traffic management will be removed, however a 30mph speed limit will remain in place as traffic will be travelling over a temporary surface. The permanent traffic lights at Connel Bridge will be manually controlled during these roadworks to optimise traffic flow in the area.

Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said “These works are required to fix the deteriorating road surface conditions. The project will make the road surface more durable and resilient against inclement weather, as well as providing a safer road for road users.

“We thank motorists for their patience ahead of these road improvements.”
