Works start Monday 25 April for five nights

Routine maintenance operations and bridge inspections for the M90 Junction 10 Craigend Interchange and Friarton Bridge near Perth are scheduled to take place from Monday 25 of April at 7.30pm.

The project will allow teams to carry out routine maintenance on the bridges and slip roads of the busy M90 Craigend Interchange and Friarton Bridge, ensuring they are continuing to operate safely.  The works will include cleaning the bridge deck joints, channels and verges, as well as drainage clearance and hedge maintenance. General inspections of the bridges on the interchange will also be carried out to check for defects that might require further investigation.

The project is scheduled to begin on Monday 25 April for five nights, with works taking place between 7.30pm and 6.30am each night. All works are expected to be complete by Saturday 30 April, subject to weather conditions.

To ensure the safety of our operatives as well as motorists, closures will be in place on the slip-roads at Craigend Interchange during working hours.  Signed diversions will be in place for motorists. No works will be undertaken outwith the working hours stated and all traffic management will be removed. The M90 Friarton Bridge will remain open throughout the project however alternate lane closures will be in place to allow teams to safely complete the project.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s Operating Company Representative for the North East, said: “These routine maintenance works are part of our commitment to ensuring that the North East network continues to be of the highest standard and to carry out works with minimum inconvenience to motorists.

“The closure of the slip roads at Craigend Interchange are essential in ensuring safety for motorists and roadworkers. Every effort will be made to minimise the duration of the slip road closures each night to limit the disruption to motorists.

“We encourage motorists to plan their journey in advance, check the Traffic Scotland website for real time information before setting out and to follow diversions.”
