A five-night programme of overnight works on three sections of the M90 is set to commence on Monday 25 May, to investigate the condition of the road surface in advance of future resurfacing.
Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland will carry out the works, with overnight slip road closures and lane closures in place for the safety of motorists and the workforce.
A diversion route for traffic wishing to join the A92 from the M90 northbound will be signposted via M90 Junction 3 and Halbeath Roundabout to the A92. This diversion will add approximately 0.3 miles and 1 minute to affected journeys.
A diversion route for traffic wishing to join the M9 westbound from the M90 southbound will be signposted via the M9 eastbound to turn at Newbridge Roundabout and return westbound. This diversion will add approximately 2.5 miles and 5 minutes to affected journeys.
Consultation has taken place with relevant stakeholders in advance of these works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s Southeast Network Manager, said: “It is essential for the safety of the workforce that we close the carriageway during these works, however, we’ve scheduled them during overnight hours to minimise any disruption.
“We thank motorists in advance for their patience while our teams carry out these investigation works.”
