OVERNIGHT CLOSURE OF THE BOWTREES WESTBOUND ON-SLIP TO M876

July 22, 2021

  • RESCHEDULED: Resurfacing works from 19:30 to 06:00 on Friday 3 September 2021

The M876 westbound on-slip from Bowtrees Roundabout will be closed between 19:30 and 06:00 on the night of 3 September to allow 0.7km of carriageway to be resurfaced.

For the safety or road workers and motorists, one lane of the M876 westbound carriageway will also be closed.

A clearly signed diversion route will be in place, with traffic wishing to join the M876 via the Bowtrees on-slip diverted eastbound on the M876 to turn at Higgins Neuk Roundabout and join the M876 westbound.

The eastbound carriageway of the M876 will remain open throughout these works. All traffic management will be removed out-with working hours and access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and relevant stakeholders to make them aware of the plans and share information about the project in advance.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will help to address the defects on this section of the M876 and will greatly improve the surface for motorists.

“We thank motorists and the local community in advance for their patience while we carry out this project. We’ll do all we can to complete the work as quickly and safely as possible.”
