Overnight works commence Wednesday 30 July for two nights
BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will carry out carriageway repairs on the M9 at Junction 9 northbound on-slip. Works will take place between 21:00 and 05:00 each night from the evening of Wednesday 30 July until the morning of Friday 1 August.
For the safety of workers and road users, the M9 will be closed at Junction 9 northbound on slip during the works.
A diversion route suitable for trunk road traffic will be signposted from Pirnhall Roundabout at Junction 9 southbound to M80 Junction 7 then return on the M80 Northbound to M9 merge at Junction 9 adding an estimated 9.2 mile and 12 minutes to affected journeys.
Consultation has taken place with relevant stakeholders in advance of these works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These carriageway improvements on the M9 at Junction 9 on slip will address and repair defects in the road surface such as potholes and cracks, creating safer and smoother journeys for motorists.
“It is essential for safety that we close the carriageway during these works, however we’ve scheduled them to be carried out during overnight hours to minimise any disruption.
“We thank road users in advance for their patience while our teams carry out these improvements.”
