OVERNIGHT CARRIAGEWAY IMPROVEMENTS ON A83 NEAR KENNACRAIG FERRY TERMINAL JUNCTION

Update on 17 September 2025: Following dates changing elsewhere on the programme, works on the A83 at Kennacraig Ferry Terminal have been has been delayed by one night. See all updates below.

  • Overnight road closures with hourly amnesties from Monday 22 September for six nights

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will undertake essential carriageway improvements on the A83 near Kennacraig Ferry Terminal Junction.

The protect the workforce and road users, the A83 will be closed between 7pm and 5am each night from the evening of Monday 22 September until the morning of Tuesday 30 September. Hourly amnesties will be in place to allow road users to pass through the site safely every hour on the hour during the closure. There will be no road closure on Friday or Saturday nights.

Amnesty periods will be arranged to accommodate ferry users arriving at Kennacraig throughout the evenings.

Outwith working hours, the road will be full reopened each morning at 5am to keep disruption to a minimum, however a speed restriction of 30mph will be in place as traffic will be running over a temporary road surface.

Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
