BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are set to carry out road safety improvements on the A9 between Luncarty and Bankfoot. The improvements involve installing safety barriers in the verges and are currently planned to start on Monday 9 March.
Works will be carried out between the hours of 8am and 5pm and are expected to be completed by Friday 27 March.
To ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public, single lane closures and a restricted speed limit of 50mph will be set up on the evening of Sunday 8 March and will remain in place 24 hours a day for the duration of the works.
Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.
Michael Baxter, BEAR Scotland’s North West Improvements Scheme Manager said, “These new safety barriers will help to protect drivers and improve safety at this section of the A9.
“Our teams will carry out these works efficiently, with safety as our top priority. We thank the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the improvements. Please plan your journey in advance, especially if you are travelling between Perth and Dunkeld.”
