Transport Scotland’s trunk road operating company BEAR Scotland is currently making improvements to the A9 at The Mound, which crosses the head of Loch Fleet near Golspie.

The £161,000 project began on Monday 19 June with a kerbing work, which is on track to be completed by Friday 23 June, and the team will move to resurfacing the road next week.

The resurfacing work was due to start on Monday 26 June but will now begin at 7pm on Sunday 25 June. Weather dependant, it will be completed by 7am on Friday 30 June.

To keep roadworkers and motorists safe during working hours, a 10mph convoy system will be in place.

Real time journey information is available from Traffic Scotland on www.traffic.gov.scot or twitter at @trafficscotland.

Materials removed from the existing carriageway will be recycled using SEPA approved methods.
