February 14, 2024

  • Drainage investigation, planned for seven days starting Wednesday 21 Feb.

  • Temporary traffic lights between 8.30am and 4.30pm

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland will be carrying out essential drainage investigation works between Arrochar and Tarbet on the A83, with works planned to commence on Wednesday 21 February.

These drainage investigation works have a programmed duration of seven days, commencing from Wednesday 21 February between the hours of 8.30am and 4.30pm and are anticipated to be complete on Thursday 29 February, with no works to take place on the Saturday or Sunday.

Due to the nature of the works and to protect both roadworkers and road users, it will be necessary to use temporary traffic lights. Pedestrians will still be permitted to use the footway.

Access through the worksite for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Unit Representative said; “These drainage investigation works through Tarbet Village on the A83 will identify the condition of the drainage assets and give an indication if further works are required to improve the drainage system.

Our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as they can, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these works. We encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
