BEAR Scotland is set to carry out essential improvement works on the private access at the A835 Ardcharnich Bridge near Braes of Ullapool from Monday 26 May to Friday 30 May. Works will be carried out between 8am and 6pm.
The works will involve road surfacing improvements, fence replacement, and tree felling to enhance visibility and safety for local residents and drivers accessing or exiting the A835 from the private road.
To protect road users and operatives, the A835 will be reduced to a single lane over the bridge, with temporary two-way traffic lights in operation during daytime hours throughout the project.
Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said, “This project will enhance public safety, particularly for the residents living adjacent to the bridge, by improving visibility between the A835 and the adjacent private road. We are committed to completing this work as quickly and safely as possible and appreciate the patience of all road users during this period.
“We strongly encourage people to plan ahead, check the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date journey information, and allow extra time for travel.”
