MAINTENANCE OF THE EASTBOUND M8 APPROACH TO JUNCTION 3A

November 29, 2021

  • Overnight road closure on Monday 29 November 2021

The eastbound carriageway of the M8 between Junctions 4 and 3A will be closed for maintenance works between 20:30 and 06:00 on Monday 29 November.

The works will be carried out by BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s operating company.

A signed diversion route will direct eastbound motorists from M8 Junction 4 to Junction 3A, via the A801, the A7066, Boghall Roundabout and the A779. This diversion will add an estimated 7 minutes and 3.6 miles to affected journeys.

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said:

“It’s essential for safety that we close the carriageway while work is in progress, however we’ve scheduled the works overnight to minimise any disruption.

“If you do need to use this route on the night of Monday 29 November, our advice is to plan ahead and allow a few minutes extra for your journey.”
