The slip road exiting the northbound carriageway of the M90 at Junction 1C, Admiralty, will be closed for maintenance on the nights of 9 to 13 March, and 17 March.
Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland will use these closures to improve kerbing and tactile paving, and to reinstate traffic detection loops following the resurfacing scheme that was completed at this location in February.
Works will take place between 20:00 and 06:00 each night, with the slip road closed. The M90 main carriageway will remain open at all times.
During these overnight slip road closures, a signed diversion route will be in place via the M90 Junction 2 northbound off-slip (Masterton), the A823(M) westbound, Pitreavie Roundabout, Queensferry Road, King’s Road (B980), and King’s Road Roundabout to join the A985. This diversion is expected to add approximately 8 minutes and 2.8 miles to journeys.
These works are being coordinated with the ongoing major project to refurbish the Masterton Viaduct, which carries the M90 at Junction 2. All diversion signage will be managed accordingly.
Consultation has taken place with relevant stakeholders in advance of these works to make them aware of the traffic management and to minimise any inconvenience.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These improvements at M90 Junction 1C will address and repair defects in the footway, and reinstate traffic detection loops following recent resurfacing.
“It is essential for safety that we close the slip road during these works. We’ve scheduled this during overnight hours to minimise any disruption.
“If you need to use this route during the works, please plan ahead and allow extra time for the diversion.
“We thank road users in advance for their patience and understanding.”
