BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s operating company, is set to resurface 600 metres of the M9 southbound carriageway at Junction 1B, Winchburgh.
The work will take place over five nights between the hours of 20:30 and 06:00, commencing on the night of Tuesday 10 June.
For the safety of road users and the workforce, the M9 southbound will be closed at Junction 2 during these works, with a signed diversion route in place via the A904 and the M90 southbound from Junction 1A Queensferry, to rejoin the M9 southbound at Junction 1A Kirkliston. This will add an estimated 13 minutes and 8.2 additional miles to affected journeys.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will improve ride quality and safety for motorists using this section of the M9.
“A carriageway closure is essential for safety; however, we’ve scheduled the works overnight to minimise disruption.
“If you do need to travel during these works, please allow some extra time for your journey.”
Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and other relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.
