The slip road exiting the M8 westbound at Junction 4, East Whitburn, will be closed for drainage repairs between 20:30 and 06:00 each night from Monday 9 December to Friday 13 December.
Traffic wishing to exit the M8 westbound during the works will be directed to continue on the M8 westbound to turn at Junction 4A, returning eastbound to exit via the Junction 4 eastbound off-slip. This diversion will add approximately 4.3 miles and 5 minutes to affected journeys.
Relevant stakeholders have been consulted in advance to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These works will enhance drainage on this slip road, helping to reduce the risk of future flooding.
“Road closures are essential to allow our operatives to carry out the improvements safely, however we’ve scheduled the works overnight to minimise disruption.
“We’re grateful to the public for their patience and understanding.”
Real time journey information is available from Traffic Scotland a www.traffic.gov.scot or on X at @trafficscotland.
All work is weather dependent and subject to postponement in the event of adverse conditions.
