  • Convoy with temporary traffic lights

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to carry out essential improvements to two laybys on the A9 between Calvine and Drumochter from Tuesday 11 November between the hours of 7pm and 6am.

The A9 layby 66 northbound at Drumochter duals will be resurfaced on the nights of Tuesday 11 November and Wednesday 12 November. One lane of the dual carriageway will remain open with traffic lights and a 10mph convoy system in place. A single closure will remain in place during the day on Wednesday 12 November.

Following on, resurfacing works on the A9 layby 60 near Glen Garry will be carried out on the night of Thursday 13 November. To protect the workforce and road users, traffic lights will be in place overnight with vehicles being escorted safely through the site under a 10mph convoy.

Access through the works sites for emergency services will be maintained at all times.

Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “These layby improvements on the A9 will fix existing defects.

“Our teams are committed to executing these works quickly and with safety as our top priority. We extend our gratitude to the local community and road users for their patience.

“To minimise delays, we recommend that motorists plan their journeys in advance by consulting the Traffic Scotland website for real-time travel updates.”
