INVESTIGATION WORKS ON THE M876 JUNCTION 2 WESTBOUND ON-SLIP

July 6, 2026

  • Overnight slip road closure Tuesday 14 July 2026

The M876 Junction 2 westbound on-slip from North Broomage Roundabout will be closed between 19:30 and 06:00 on the night of Tuesday 14 July, to allow for investigation works in advance of future resurfacing.

The project will be carried out by Transport Scotland’s operating company, BEAR Scotland, and will involve investigating 1,200 metres of carriageway on the slip road.

During this overnight closure, a signed diversion route will be in place via the M876 eastbound to turn at M876 Junction 3 (Bowtrees) and return via the M876 westbound. This diversion will add an estimated 8 minutes and 8.2 miles to journey times.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South-East Network Manager, said “Closing the slip road is essential to ensure the safety of both road users and our workforce during these investigation works.

“We’ll do this overnight to minimise disruption, however we understand this may still cause inconvenience for some road users. We thank the public in advance for their patience and understanding.

“If you need to use this route during the works, our advice is to plan ahead and allow extra time for the diversion.”

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.
