BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will carry out bridge investigation works on Killocraw Bridge located on the A83, nine miles north of Campbeltown, from Tuesday 24 June.
The works will be carried out between 7am and 7pm, and will involve concrete and steel testing to gather information about the structure’s foundation and deck of the bridge. The investigations are expected to be completed by 7pm on Wednesday 25 June.
To ensure the safety of both road users and operatives, the northbound lane of the carriageway will be closed with two-way traffic lights in place during the works.
Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “These investigation works are essential to better understand the structure of Killocraw Bridge and to help inform future maintenance and upgrade requirements.”
“We thank all road users and the local community in advance for their patience while we carry out these necessary works as safely and efficiently as possible.”
