February 27, 2026

  • Works start on Monday 2 March

  • Temporary traffic lights in place until Friday 20 March

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are set to carry out ground investigation works on the A87 at Luib and Borve from Monday 2 March:

  • A87 Luib – Monday 2 March to Friday 13 March
  • A87 Borve – Monday 2 March to Friday 20 March

Works will be carried out between the hours of 8am and 5pm and are currently expected to be completed by Friday 20 March.

To enable these investigations while protecting road users and workers, temporary traffic lights will be in place during working hours.

BEAR Scotland has been working with all relevant stakeholders to inform them of these projects and share information about the traffic management arrangements that will be in place.

Steve Taylor, BEAR Scotland’s North West Planned Maintenance Manager said, “These investigation works will provide valuable information on ground conditions for future planned works at these locations.

“We urge road users to plan their journeys in advance, especially those travelling on the Isle of Skye.”
