BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to carry out essential footway improvements on the A85 from Perth to Lochty, from Monday 19 January 2026.
The footway resurfacing, along with kerbing upgrades will take place between the hours of 8am and 5pm, with no works taking place on weekends. The works are scheduled for completion by Friday 20 February 2026.
Temporary traffic lights, a single lane closure and temporary pedestrian walkways will be in place for the duration of the works to ensure the safety of the workforce, road users and those on foot.
Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “These essential footway improvements will enhance the safety for pedestrians walking along this stretch of the A85. We will be working hard to ensure the project is completed as quickly as possible, with minimal disruption.
“We thank the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the necessary works. To reduce delays, we recommend motorists travelling between Perth and Lochty, plan their journeys in advance and check the Traffic Scotland website for real-time travel updates.”
Real-time journey information is available from Traffic Scotland on www.traffic.gov.scot or X @trafficscotland or on the mobile site my.trafficscotland.org.
BEAR Scotland has informed all relevant stakeholders of the project and proposed traffic management arrangements. Access through the works for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
