Works start on Monday 2 November

Temporary traffic lights in place until Friday 11 December
BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are set to carry out footway improvements on the A87 in Portree from Monday 2 November.
The works will be carried out between the hours of 7am and 7pm, and are expected to be completed by Friday 11 December.
To ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public, traffic lights will mostly remain in place 24-hours a day. However, where on-site conditions allow and it is safe to do so, traffic management may be removed outwith working hours. A suitable pedestrian diversion route will also be in place.
Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained for the full duration of the works.
Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the footway works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.
Steve Taylor, BEAR Scotland’s North West Design Manager said: “These footway improvement works on the A87 at Portree will address defects in the footway, greatly improving safety and accessibility for pedestrians.
“Our teams will carry out these works safely and efficiently.
We thank the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the improvements.”
