ESSENTIAL ROUTINE INSPECTION WORKS ON THE A828 CONNEL BRIDGE AND FOOTBRIDGE

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are set to carry out essential routine inspection works on the A828 at Connel Bridge and the adjacent footbridge from Monday 26 January.

Inspection works will be carried out between 8am to 6pm daily and are expected to be completed on the evening of Friday 6 February. No works will be carried out on Saturdays and Sundays.

Due to the nature of the works, there will be no disruption to motorists however the footbridge will be temporary closed to the public at various essential times during this period. The footway on Connel Bridge will remain open for non-motorists during this time. Cyclists wishing to use the footway on Connel Bridge should dismount prior to crossing.

The programme of works is subject to postponement, cancellation or rearrangement of dates in the event of adverse weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

Consultation has taken place with relevant stakeholders in advance of these works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.
