ESSENTIAL ROCKSLOPE REMEDIATION WORKS TO TAKE PLACE ON A82 AT ALLTSIGH

August 26, 2025

  • Weekday works to start Monday 1 September for 5 weeks

For five weeks from Monday 1 September, essential remedial works will take place each weekday, on the rock slope along a stretch of the A82 at Alltsigh.

Carried out by BEAR Scotland on behalf of Transport Scotland, a two-way traffic light system will be in place to ensure road users can pass safely and easily through the site. Work will take place between the hours of 08:00-18:00, Monday to Friday.

These essential works include the safe removal of loose rocks and debris from the rock slope above the road, as well as localised rock reinforcement and the installation of rock mesh.

With other works ongoing in the area, all efforts have been made to minimise disruption for road users.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said:

“The traffic management arrangements are essential for the protection of both our workforce as well as motorists. We encourage all road users to plan their journeys ahead by checking the Traffic Scotland website and follow any signs or temporary arrangements that are in place. Our teams will do all they can to complete the project as quickly and safely as possible.

“We understand that works of this nature will be disruptive, and we would like to thank the local communities in advance for their patience whilst we carry out these essential remediation works.”
