The slip road onto the westbound A1 at Wallyford Junction will be closed from 20:00 until 05:00 on the night of Monday 6 November, to allow BEAR Scotland to carry out essential repairs to the road surface.
A diversion route for road users wishing to join the A1 westbound at Wallyford Junction will be signposted via the A1 eastbound to the junction with the A199 at Tranent, where they will be able to turn and join the A1 westbound carriageway. This diversion is expected to add an estimated 3.9 miles and 5 minutes to affected journeys.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “We need to close this slip road overnight to allow us to carry out essential repairs to the road surface.
“We’re grateful to road users for their patience and understanding.”
Emergency services will be given access through the works at all times.
Relevant stakeholders have been consulted in advance to make them aware of the plans.
