June 16, 2022

Works are programmed to start on Monday 20 June for five days

An essential bridge maintenance project on the A82 Drumnadrochit Bridge is set to get underway from Monday 20 June.

The project will involve teams repointing the masonry on the bridge, which carries the A82 over the River Enrick, ensuring the bridge remains protected for years to come.

Works are programmed to begin on Monday 20 June and are anticipated to take place over five days between 8am and 5pm each day.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and road users, a 30mph speed restriction and a three-way temporary traffic light system will be in operation during working hours. A signed diversion will also be in place for pedestrians. All traffic management will be removed outwith working hours.

Commenting on the project, Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “This essential maintenance project will see teams repoint the existing mortar on the A82 Drumnadrochit Bridge, which will help protect the bridge structure for years to come.

“The traffic management arrangements on the A82 are crucial to ensure the works are completed safely, our teams will do all they can to complete the project as quickly as possible. We’ve arranged for traffic management to be removed outwith the stated working hours to help limit disruption.

“We thank all road users for their patience in advance while we carry out these essential repairs. We encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
