BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s North West trunk road operating company, is set to start essential resurfacing improvements on the dual carriageway section of the A9 between Crubenmore Junction and Etteridge Junction.
Resurfacing improvements will start on the northbound carriageway on Sunday 15 June with all works on the northbound scheduled to be completed by the morning of Wednesday 18 June. Works will then switch over to the southbound carriageway on Wednesday 18 June and are expected to be completed by the morning of Monday 23 June. All works will take place each working night between 8pm and 6am and no works will take place on Friday or Saturdays.
To ensure the safety of both workers and road users, the northbound and southbound carriageways will be reduced to one lane with a convoy system in place to control traffic through the works extents.
During the works, the Crubenmore junction will be closed with a signed diversion in place.
Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “This crucial surfacing project on the A9 dual carriageway at Crubenmore will fix existing defects and significantly enhance the driving experience for all road users.
“Our teams are committed to executing these works quickly with safety as our top priority. We extend our gratitude to the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the improvements.
“To minimise delays, we recommend that motorists plan their journeys in advance by consulting the Traffic Scotland website for real-time travel updates.”
