  • Drainage improvement works start on Thursday 4 June

  • Two-way temporary traffic lights in place during working hours

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to carry out essential drainage improvement works on the A85 at Derry Wood, Loch Earn, from Thursday 4 June.

The works will be carried out between the hours of 8am and 4pm each day and are scheduled to complete on Friday 26 June 2026.

To ensure the safety of all road users, a lane closure will be in place on the eastbound lane with temporary two-way traffic lights in operation during working hours.

Traffic management measures will be removed outwith these times. No works are planned to take place on Saturday and Sunday nights.

Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained for the duration of the works.

Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the drainage improvements to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.

Steve Taylor, BEAR Scotland’s North West Design Manager, said: “These essential works will help restore the drainage system in the area to full operational capacity and reduce the risk of flooding on the trunk road.

“Our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as possible , and we thank the local community and road users for their patience while they do so. ”
