Updated 28 November 2025: Operatives are set to return to the A9 Milton of Leys (Bogbain) junction to carry out drainage improvements from Monday 1 December. Please see new dates below.
BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will be continuing with essential drainage improvement works on the southbound A9 trunk road at the Milton of Leys, or Bogbain, junction from Monday 1 December.
Works will be carried out between the hours of 7.30pm and 6am each night with works expected to be completed by Saturday 6 December.
In order to protect road users and the workforce, the southbound on slip at Milton of Leys (Bogbain) will be closed at times during the works with signed diversions in place. Traffic will be redirected onto the B9177 and B9006, then will rejoin the southbound A9 at the B9006 Culloden Road (Inshes) junction.
Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s Northwest Unit Representative said; “These drainage improvement works will reduce the frequency and severity of flooding on the carriageway and provide a safer route for road users.”
“Our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as possible. We have programmed these works to be carried out over night to reduce the impact on the travelling public, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these essential works.”
“We encourage road users to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
