  • Temporary traffic lights will be in place each night

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are set to carry out overnight drainage improvement works on the A82 at Ben Nevis Distillery in Fort William.

Works will be carried out between 8pm and 6am each night from Sunday 22 February and are expected to be completed by the morning of Friday 13 March. No works will take place on Friday or Saturday nights.

To ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public, a lane closure with temporary traffic lights will be in place during working hours. All traffic management will be removed outwith working hours.

Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained for the full duration of  the works, and the works have been programmed to be carried out at night to minimise disruption for the travelling public.

Steven Taylor, BEAR Scotland’s North West Planned Maintenance Manager said: “This drainage improvement scheme on the A82 at Ben Nevis Distillery will replace defective sections of carrier pipe, restoring the filter drain to full capacity, reducing flooding and improving safety for road users.

“Our teams will carry out these works with safety as our top priority. We thank the local community and road users for their patience while we complete these improvements.”
