CYCLE PATH GROUND INVESTIGATION ON A82 NORTH OF ONICH

October 1, 2026

  • Works start on Monday 5 October

  • Temporary traffic lights in place for two days

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are set to carry out ground investigation works on the cycle path alongside the A82 north of Onich from Monday 5 October.

Works will be carried out between the hours of 8am and 6pm and are expected to be completed on Tuesday 6 October.

To ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public, two-way temporary traffic lights will be in operation for the duration of the works. Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained throughout.

Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.

Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “The works on the A82 north of Onich involve digging trial pits. This provides information on the make-up of the ground and will aid the design of planned cycleway improvements.

“Our teams will carry out these works quickly, with safety as our top priority. We thank the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the improvements.”
