CORING INVESTIGATION WORKS ON A876 SLIP ROAD

November 6, 2023

  • Overnight slip road closure 9 November 2023

The slip road exiting the westbound A876 at Junction 3 Bowtrees will be closed between 19:30 and 06:00 on the night of 9 November, for coring investigation works in advance of future resurfacing.

A signed diversion route will be in place via the M876 westbound, turning at Junction 2 via the A9 Stirling Rd and Glenbervie Roundabout before returning along the M876 eastbound towards Kincardine Bridge and exiting at the Junction 3 Bowtrees eastbound off-slip. This diversion will add approximately 8.5 miles and 10 minutes to affected journeys.

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and other relevant stakeholders to make them aware of the plans in advance.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “We thank road users and the local community in advance for their patience while we carry out this essential pavement investigation to allow us to carry out future resurfacing works.

“We’ll do all we can to complete the work as quickly and safely as possible.”
