BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to carry out essential footway construction works on the A83 Millknowe Road, Campbeltown between Albyn Avenue and Glengyle Road.
The works are programmed to be undertaken from Tuesday 6 May until Thursday 15 May, between 7am and 7pm each day, including Saturday 10 May. There will be no works on Sunday 11 May.
To protect road users, pedestrians, and roadworkers, 24 hour traffic lights will be in place along with a temporary footway diversion as the path will be closed for the duration on of the works. Access to the bowling club will be maintained by the use of ramps and a walk way.
Access through the worksite for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s Northwest Unit Representative said; “These essential footway improvement works will upgrade the existing footways, greatly improving the quality and safety for pedestrians.
“Our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as they can, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these works.”
“We encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
