CONCRETE INVESTIGATION WORKS AT M90 JUNCTION 2

May 11, 2021

  • Overnight slip road closures 18-20 May 2021

Concrete investigations on the overbridge that carries Masterton Road over the M90 at Junction 2 are set to begin on 18 May. Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland will carry out the works over three nights.

For the safety of road workers and the travelling public, the following traffic restrictions will be in place on slip roads from the A823(M):

  • 18 and 19 May: The A823(M) northbound on-slip at M90 Junction 2 will be closed between 20:00 and 06:00. A diversion will be signposted via the A823(M) southbound on-slip at M90 Junction 2 and Junction 1c Admiralty.
  • 20 May: The A823(M) southbound off-slip at M90 Junction 2 will be closed between 20:00 and 06:00. A diversion will be signposted via M90 Junction 1c Admiralty and the M90 northbound Junction 2 off-slip.

Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of these works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements.

All personnel on site will be subject to strict physical distancing protocols in line with Scottish Government guidance. Thorough risk assessments have been developed and cleansing stations will be implemented on site.

Chris Tracey, BEAR Scotland’s South East Unit Bridges Manager, said: “Concrete investigations are an essential part of our maintenance regime, providing us with critical information to identify any defects at an early stage and preserve the integrity of our network.

“We thank motorists in advance for their patience and encourage them to plan ahead, allow extra time for their journey and check the Traffic Scotland website and Twitter account for live travel information.”
