CLOSURE OF NORTHBOUND M9 FOR BARRIER INSTALLATION

June 17, 2022

  • Overnight carriageway closure 00:00 to 06:00 Thursday 23 June 2022

The northbound carriageway of the M9 will be closed between Junctions 8 and 9 from 00:00 until 06:00 on the morning of Thursday 23 June, to allow the safe installation of a new concrete barrier system.

Northbound traffic will be diverted via the M876 and the M80 southbound to turn at M80 Junction 7 Haggs, returning northbound via the M80 to M9 Junction 10 Craigforth.

Chris Tracey, BEAR Scotland’s South East Unit Bridges Manager, said: “An overnight carriageway closure is required on the M9 to allow us to safely install a new barrier system around the central pier of a bridge over the motorway.

“We thank motorists in advance for their patience. We ask them to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journey if they need to travel on the M9.”
