CLOSURE OF A876 NORTH OF CLACKMANNANSHIRE BRIDGE

November 5, 2021

  • Resurfacing works to commence Tuesday 30 November 2021 for nine nights, excluding Saturday and Sunday

BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s operating company, is planning to resurface 1.65km of carriageway on the A876, North of Clackmannanshire Bridge.

The project will commence Tuesday 30 November for nine nights, between the hours of 19:30 and 06:00 each night. No works will be carried out on Saturday or Sunday nights.

Works are expected to be completed by 6.00am on Saturday 11 December and all traffic management will be removed out with working hours.

To ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public, it is necessary to close the A876 in both directions during the works.

A clearly signed diversion route will be in place between Higgins Neuk Roundabout and Kilbagie Roundabout, with traffic wishing to cross the Clackmannanshire Bridge, diverted across the Kincardine Bridge via the A977.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will help to address defects on this section of the A876 and greatly improve the driving experience for motorists.

“We’d like to thank the local community in advance for their patience while we carry out this project. We’ll do all we can to complete the work as quickly and safely as possible.”
