CARRIAGEWAY REPAIRS ON THE M9 SOUTHBOUND

August 11, 2025

  • Overnight southbound carriageway closure 22 August 2025

The southbound carriageway of the M9 where it passes underneath Junction 1 Newbridge Roundabout will be closed from 20:30 until 06:00 on the night of 22 August, to allow defects in the carriageway to be repaired.

A diversion route will be signposted via the slip road to Newbridge Roundabout, from where traffic can re-join the M9 southbound. This will add approximately one minute and no additional distance to affected journeys.

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Relevant stakeholders have been consulted in advance to make them aware of the works.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “It’s essential for the safety of motorists and road workers that we close the carriageway while these works take place, however the diversion is short and the works will take place at night, so this is not expected to cause any significant disruption.”

Live traffic information is available from Traffic Scotland at www.traffic.gov.scot or on X at @trafficscotland.

All works are weather dependent and subject to postponement in the event of adverse conditions.
