CARRIAGEWAY REPAIRS ON THE M876 WESTBOUND

January 30, 2026

  • Overnight carriageway closure Thursday 12 February 2026

The westbound carriageway of the M876 will be closed for carriageway repairs between Junction 1 and the merge with the M80 from 19:30 until 06:00 on the night of Thursday 12 February.

During this closure, a signed diversion route will be in place between M876 Junction 1 and M80 Junction 7, via Checkbar Roundabout, the A8004, Larbert Road and the A803. This diversion will add approximately 6 minutes and 0.6 miles onto affected journeys.

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Consultation has been carried out with relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These carriageway repairs will address defects within the carriageway, ensuring the integrity and safety of the motorway at this location.

“The works have been scheduled overnight to minimise disruption, however if you do need to use this route our advice is to plan ahead and allow a few extra minutes for the diversion.

“We thank motorists in advance for their patience and understanding.”

All works are weather dependent and subject to postponement in the event of adverse conditions.
