The M80 southbound will be closed at Junction 9 between 20:30 and 06:00 on the nights of Monday 13 and Tuesday 14 October.
This is to allow Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland to repair defects in the carriageway.
A signed diversion route for traffic wishing to use the M80 southbound will be in place from Junction 9 (Pirnhall) via the M9 southbound to exit at Junction 7 and join the M876 eastbound, turning at Junction 3 (Bowtrees) and returning via the M876 westbound to join the M80 at Junction 7 (Haggs). This will add approximately 10 miles and 10 minutes to affected journeys.
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “It’s necessary to close the M80 at Junction 9 to allow us to carry out repairs to the carriageway.
“We’re grateful to motorists and the local community for their understanding. We’ll do all we can to complete the work with as little disruption as possible.”
Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website www.traffic.gov.scot for up-to-date travel information.
All works are weather dependent and subject to postponement in the event of adverse conditions.
