BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are set to carry out overnight carriageway resurfacing works on the A83 north of Bellochantruy from Monday 8 December.
Works will be carried out between the hours of 7pm and 6am each working night.
To protect the workforce and road users, this section of the A83 will be closed during working hours. Hourly amnesties will be available 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, midnight, 1am, 2am, 3am, 4am and 5am to enable road users to pass through the work site safely and continue their journeys.
The road will be open as normal from 6am each day to keep disruption to a minimum, however a speed restriction of 30mph will remain in place as traffic will be running over a temporary road surface.
These works are a part of a rolling resurfacing programme for the A83 and dates are subject to change depending on the progress of preceding schemes.
Access for emergency services will be maintained for the full duration of the works.
Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “These surfacing works on the A83 will fix existing defects in the area and improve safety for road users.”
“Our teams will carry out these works quickly, with safety as our top priority. We thank the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the improvements.”
