  • Overnight carriageway improvements start from Sunday 15 June

  • Works expected to be completed by 5am on Saturday 28 June

BEAR Scotland, working on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to start essential surfacing improvements on the A84 carriageway at two locations, with surfacing beginning in the village of Strathyre before moving on to Doune.

This project starts from 7pm on Sunday 15 June and are due to be completed by 5am on the morning of Saturday 28 June.

Road closures with hourly amnesties at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, midnight, 1am, 2am, 3am and 4am will be in place at these locations on the following dates:

  • A84 Strathyre – 7pm on Sunday 15 June until 5am on Wednesday 18 June
  • A84 Doune – 7pm on Wednesday 18 June until 5am on Friday 20 June

The remainder of the works will be completed under temporary traffic lights with a 10mph convoy from 7pm to 5am on the following dates:

  • Friday 20 June until 5am on Tuesday 24 June
  • Friday 27 June until 5am on Saturday 28 June

The road will be open as normal from 5am each day to keep disruption to a minimum, with a speed restriction of 30mph in place as traffic will be running over a temporary road surface.

Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.

Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “These surfacing projects on the A84 will fix existing defects and significantly enhance the driving experience for all road users.

“Our teams are committed to executing these works quickly and with safety as our top priority. We’re grateful to the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the improvements.

“To minimise delays, we recommend that road users plan their journeys in advance by consulting the Traffic Scotland website for real-time travel updates.”
