BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will undertake essential carriageway improvements on the A83, South of Low Ballevain. Work will take place from the evening of Tuesday 28 October until the morning of Wednesday 19 November.
To protect the workforce and road users, the A83 will be closed between 7pm and 6am each night. Hourly amnesties will be available to allow road users to pass through the work site safely and continue their journey at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, midnight, 1am 2am, 3am, 4am and 5am. There will no road closures on Friday or Saturday nights.
It is advised that trunk road traffic should not use the local Tangy Road as a diversion, as it is unsuitable.
The road will be open outwith working hours to keep disruption to a minimum, however a speed restriction of 30mph will remain in place as traffic will be running over a temporary road surface.
Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “These surfacing works on the A83 will fix existing defects in the area and improve safety for road users.
“Our teams are committed to executing these works quickly and with safety as our top priority. We’re grateful to the local community and road users for their patience.
“To minimise delays, we recommend that road users plan their journeys in advance by consulting the Traffic Scotland website for real-time travel updates.”
