BEAR Scotland, working on behalf of Transport Scotland, is carrying out essential surfacing improvements on the A83 carriageway from Corran Roundabout to Ardrishaig.
Surface improvements will start at 7pm on Monday 30 June and are due to be complete by 6am on Wednesday 23 July. No works will take place on Fridays or Saturdays.
To ensure the safety of both workers and road users, temporary traffic lights will be in use between 7pm and 6am each night with a convoy system in place to control traffic through the work site during the resurfacing.
Due to the nature of the works, temporary traffic lights may be required to stay in place during the day, however these will only ever cover one small section of the site, per day.
A 30mph speed restriction will be left in place due to traffic running over a temporary road surface with no road markings.
Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “This surfacing project on the A83 between Corran Roundabout and Ardrishaig will fix existing defects and significantly enhance the driving experience for all motorists. We’re grateful to the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the improvements.
“To minimise delays, we recommend that road users plan their journeys in advance by consulting the Traffic Scotland website for real-time travel updates.”
