BRIDGE MAINTENANCE WORKS ON A9 WEST OF CARRBRIDGE

May 23, 2025

  • Bearing investigations to take place on Saturday 31 May and Monday 2 June

  • Two-way traffic lights on A9 between 8am and 4:30pm

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are set to carry out essential bridge investigation work on the bridge carrying the A9 over the River Dulnain, west of Carrbridge.

This essential maintenance work is scheduled to be carried out on Saturday 31 May and Monday 2 June from 8am to 4:30pm.

To protect road users and the workforce, the A9 carriageway will be reduced to one lane over the bridge with two-way temporary traffic lights in place during working hours.

Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said “The planned work includes the inspection and monitoring of the bridge bearings to determine their functionality. Each bearing will be cleaned to remove surface corrosion and maintain their effectiveness.

“We will do everything possible to complete this essential maintenance as quickly and safely as possible. We thank all road users and the local community for their patience in advance.

“Please plan ahead by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date journey information and leave some extra time to complete journeys.”
