BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are set to carry out essential maintenance work on the A83 Garron Bridge. The bridge carries the A83 carriageway over Gearr Abhainn which connects Dubh Loch with Loch Shira.
This essential maintenance work starts on Wednesday 28 May and Wednesday 4 June from 8:00am to 4:30pm.
To protect road users and the workforce, this section of the A83 will be reduced to one lane over the bridge. A temporary two-way traffic light system will be in place during working hours.
Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said “This project involves the inspection and monitoring of the bridge bearings to determine their functionality, with surface corrosion and detritus being removed from each bearing to assist the process.
“We thank all road users and the local community for their patience in advance.
“Please plan ahead by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date journey information and leave some extra time to complete journeys.”
