BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are set to carry out inspection works on Cromarty Bridge on the A9 from Thursday 29 October.
The works involve inspection of the cathodic protection system, which helps prevent corrosion, as well as a principal inspection of the bridge which is carried out every six years.
To ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public, temporary traffic lights will be in place at the following times:
Consultation has taken place with relevant stakeholders in advance of these works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.
Richard Cook, BEAR Scotland’s North West Bridges Manager said: “These inspections are part of our routine work to review the condition of the bridge and will inform our programme of future repair works.
“As part of the inspection, specialist engineers will access the underside of the bridge using an underbridge inspection unit.
“We thank road users in advance for their patience and understanding while our teams carry out these essential inspections.”
