BEAR Scotland is sponsoring the Coast to Coast in 24 hours challenge (C2C24) team who are fundraising for My Name’5 Doddie Foundation in the fight against Motor Neurone Disease.

On June 5, a team of eight will attempt to travel 174 miles from Portpatrick on Scotland’s west coast to Cockburnspath on the east coast within 24 hours by cycling, running, walking and kayaking.

BEAR Scotland has supported MND Scotland and My Name’5 Doddie Foundation for some years in memory of a colleague who also had the condition.

BEAR has gritter named ‘My Name’5 Doddie Foundation’ which operates in the Scottish Borders, treating routes around Doddie Weir’s homeland.

Andy Thompson, Operating Company Representative from BEAR Scotland said: “BEAR Scotland is proud to support this incredibly challenging event as a Silver Sponsor.  MND has affected us as a company personally and we are keen to help raise awareness and do what we can to boost funds to research this debilitating condition.   All the staff at BEAR Scotland send best wishes to the whole C2C24 team and hope that they have a safe and successful journey.”
