  • A day of golf and highland games fun boosts funds

BEAR Scotland raised £27,815 for Cash for Kids in its biggest ever summer corporate charity event supported by twenty-five of its key suppliers and subcontractors.

The traditional golf competition was enhanced this year with the addition of a Highland Games event running simultaneously. Both competitions were held at the Dalmahoy Country Club and Hotel near Edinburgh.

This year’s total means that BEAR Scotland’s annual summer corporate charity event has raised over £128k for Cash for Kids since 2020.

Golf and games

Eighty golfers competed for individual and team prizes through a four-ball shotgun tournament on the Dalmahoy’s West Course.

Meanwhile twenty intrepid Highland Games participants competed in the Tug of War, Haggis Hurl, Tyre Flipping, Welly Wanging, Caber Toss and Axe Throwing.

Everyone then enjoyed a meal, quiz and charity auction hosted by Bauer Media presenter and DJ, Gavin Pearson. There were some fantastic prizes up for grabs including luxury hotel stays, a variety of the latest golfing tech and rounds of golf at some of the best courses in the country.

Beneficial partnership

Emma Kemp, Cash for Kids Scotland East Regional Director said: “Our relationship with BEAR Scotland has always been incredibly positive and we’re extremely grateful for their ongoing support. To have topped £128K since 2020 is really impressive and will make a real difference to the local children and families that we support.”

Mark Godsell, BEAR Scotland’s Commercial Director, added: “BEAR is passionate about giving back to the communities in which we work. This is one of the highlights of our calendar year – by working together with our supply chain we have been able to raise a phenomenal amount for Cash for Kids over the past few years. The support from staff, suppliers and subcontractors is incredible.”
