BEAR SCOTLAND SUPPORTS SURVIVORS WITH £750 DONATION

July 30, 2025

BEAR Scotland has donated £750 to Lochaber Women’s Aid, a charity providing vital support services to women, children and young people affected by domestic abuse.

The donation was made through BEAR’s Regional Charity Initiative, which allows staff to nominate local causes they care about. It’s part of the company’s wider commitment to communities across the North West, where it maintains the trunk road network for Transport Scotland.

Duncan Crilley, Corpach Operations Supervisor who put forward the charity to receive a donation, said, “I nominated Lochaber Women’s Aid because my sister works with them, supporting children who’ve experienced abuse at home.

“Hearing about the impact of her work and the difference the charity makes to families in the community really inspired me. I’m absolutely delighted they’ve received this donation and can’t thank BEAR enough for their support.”

The funding will support the charity’s ongoing work to provide safe spaces, emotional and practical support, and outreach services across the Lochaber area.

Lorraine Revitt, Service Manager at Lochaber Women’s Aid, said: “We’re very grateful for BEAR Scotland’s support. This donation will go to our Resilience Fund which is used to support women and children in crisis.

“This helps women escaping domestic abuse buy things like household goods, bedding and food when setting up a new home.”
