BEAR SCOTLAND SUPPORTS STRATHEARN BUILDING BRIDGES WITH £750 DONATION

November 3, 2026

Local charity Strathearn Building Bridges has received a £750 funding boost from trunk road management and maintenance company BEAR Scotland, which is responsible for maintaining the nearby A85 trunk road which runs through the town of Crieff.

Strathearn Building Bridges is a charity supporting people with disabilities and their carers. The funding will support its volunteers to continue to deliver group activities to all its members, including outings, arts and crafts supplies, and games and sports equipment.

The donation has been made through BEAR Scotland’s Regional Charity Initiative, which gives employees the opportunity to nominate a local charity, community group or cause that makes a positive difference within their community.

Wilma Martin, chair of Strathearn Building Bridges, said: “Strathearn Building Bridges is delighted to accept the generous donation of £750 from BEAR Scotland. This will enable us to carry out our mission to reduce isolation and promote integration by providing social opportunities and activities to adults with learning and physical difficulties in the Strathearn area. Bear Scotland’s generosity will truly help us carry on building bridges, though perhaps a different kind of ‘bridge’ than they are used to working with.”

Rachael Youngs from BEAR Scotland’s Charity Committee said: “I nominated Strathearn Building Bridges in recognition of the supportive and fun environment it provides to its members. The organisation makes a real difference not only to the individuals it supports, but also to their families, offering reassurance, friendship and a strong sense of community. I am delighted that BEAR Scotland can support them in continuing their fantastic work.”
