BEAR Scotland raised £25,128.60 for Cash for Kids in its fifth annual Charity Golf Day thanks to the 25 key suppliers and subcontractors who got involved. Held at the Dalmahoy Country Club and Hotel near Edinburgh, this year’s event brings the total amount raised to over £100,000 for Cash for Kids since 2020.
Seventy-five golfers competed for individual and team prizes through a four-ball shotgun tournament on the Dalmahoy’s West Course. BEAR Scotland golfer, Matthew Withers, received a special prize for scoring a hole-in-one on a par 4 hole.
The golfers then enjoyed a meal, raffle and charity auction hosted by Bauer Media presenter and DJ, Gavin Pearson. There were some fantastic prizes up for grabs including luxury hotel stays, a variety of the latest golfing tech and rounds of golf at some of the best courses in the country.
Emma Kemp, Cash for Kids Scotland East Regional Director presented BEAR Scotland with an award for its fundraising efforts at the event.
She said: “We’re extremely grateful for BEAR’s ongoing support. To have topped £100K in the five years we’ve been working with them is impressive and ultimately, it means a great deal to the children and families we support.”
Iain Murray, BEAR Scotland’s Managing Director added: “Despite the weather warnings we had glorious weather for the annual Charity Golf Day.
“We’re delighted to have raised such a fantastic sum for this worthy cause that supports disadvantaged children and young people in the communities where we work.
“The support from staff, suppliers and subcontractors was fundamental in raising the incredible amount that we did.”
