June 26, 2026

Dundee Bairns, a charity supporting some of the most vulnerable children in Dundee since 2017, has received a donation of £750 from trunk road maintenance company BEAR Scotland.

BEAR Scotland is committed to working in partnership with the communities its trunk roads serve, including Dundee on the A92, where Dundee Bairns is based. The charity provides vital support to some of the most vulnerable children and families in Dundee.

Dundee Bairns have also developed projects that enable professionals to refer vulnerable children for targeted support.

Genna Millar, Executive Director at Dundee Bairns, said: “We are delighted to have received such incredible support from BEAR Scotland. Donations like these help us continue our work supporting Dundee’s children with the basic essentials they need to grow and thrive. We are very grateful.”

BEAR Scotland offers staff a chance to nominate good causes close to their hearts to receive a donation of £750 through its Regional Charity Initiative.

Megan McInnes, Sustainability Advisor at BEAR Scotland, who nominated the charity for the donation, said: “I nominated the Dundee Bairns charity because 1 in 3 children in Dundee live below the poverty line and I believe all children should grow up with the best start in life.

“Dundee Bairns tackles child poverty to ensure all children in Dundee have their needs and rights met and provide opportunities to help them achieve their potential regardless of circumstance.”

Scott Skyes, Senior Bridge Engineer at BEAR Scotland, also nominated Dundee Bairns to receive a donation. He added: “No child should grow up in poverty and inequality where even basic needs can’t be met – all children should have the opportunity to grow up healthy and happy irrespective of circumstance.

“BEAR Scotland’s donation will help the dedicated team at Dundee Bairns to keep the fight against child poverty going and ensure help goes where it’s needed most.”
